School is a huge element of almost every child’s life, and as such as a vital setting for health care. In this work package, we explore the organisation, service characteristics and health priorities of the different models of school health services and adolescent health services in the EU Member States, Norway and Iceland. These include screening, preventive services such as vaccinations and counselling advice. We will also look at whole school approaches and the different health-promoting school interventions. We will assess the effects and outcomes of these models for children aged over 4 years, and adolescents in Europe. In addition, we look at the costs of the different models of school health services in Europe for children (over 4 years of age) and adolescents.
This work package will build upon the findings of WPs 1, 2, and 7 and will feed its findings to the work of WP9.
